The Happy Birthday Giveaway

I plan. I make timelines. I organize. I really do have the best intentions of things going perfectly. But they don't. I'll admit. I'm very impulsive and spontaneous. I fly by the seat of my pants. This has proven many, many repercussions in my childhood and teenage years and successes in my adult life. And a little of both in each. I can't really say "impulsiveness" and "spontaneity" are wonderful character traits to have. Sure, it's alot of fun and it makes you feel like such a rebel, but it can get you in alot of trouble. Trust me. I also have a mouth with "no filter", as my family likes to put it. I just don't think before I say something. Another character trait, I'm not sure is a good one to have. I guess one way of looking at it, I can adjust to changes well : )

That being said, the progress of the Dainty Button Studio Extreme Makeover. Well made plans, are not always followed out. I had a point in talking about impulsiveness, spontaneity and "flying by the seat of your pants" for a reason. I scheduled my Grand Opening - First Anniversary Celebration for January 15th. That's 6 days away. No walls painted, not all of my cabinets are bought. The chandelier is hanging up and it looks...odd. Like the princess at the dump. I made that up. But the good news is, it's not the end of the world and invitations were not sent out yet, so a little schedule juggling and all is well. I bet you guys would've never known any different, if I hadn't blogged about this : )

So, we now have a date of January 29th. Whew! And the other good news is, the walls get painted tomorrow evening. I can't wait to show the progress!

In the meantime, we have a wonderful giveaway that is underway and approaching "The End". The "Happy Birthday" Giveaway will end Tuesday, January 10th at 11:59 PM (PST). I will be announcing the lucky winner on Wednesday, January 11th at 10 AM (PST). So, in case you missed the giveaway details. The lucky winner gets...

A MONTHLY $50 shopping spree for an ENTIRE YEAR!

Each time you have or you are commenting on a blog entry regarding the "Extreme Makeover" process, your name goes into the drawing "pot", so to speak.

My blogging will not end on Tuesday evening, but the contest portion of it will. I hope that you stick around and continue following and sharing the wonderful adventure with me.

Speaking of progress...

The door? Well, I have found EXACTLY what I'm doing with this magnificent piece of art. A few of you commented making it into a desk on a previous blog. A good friend of mine, also mentioned the same thing. So, I researched it out and brainstormed and my lovely China imported door will become my desk. A little something like this...

My brother-in-law threw in some great ideas, as well, but I'll keep from sharing them, because I want it to be a surprise. I cannot wait! Thank you ladies for suggesting it.

And I also found these lil' cuties...

Wall hooks : )

So, hopefully the next blog will be a pretty "Bridal Rose" wall looking back at you.

Until next blog...

Happy Sunday, everyone

  1. Awesome ideas you have there girl.
Love the desk idea, I could see a thin sheet of desk glass to go on top instead of that peice of wood to hold your laptop.
    I love the hooks.
    Looking forward to the opening!!

  5. I can totally relate to the deadline thing it always seems said I have the time to squeeze one more thing in before the deadline and end up going doing both things after...if that makes any sense. Totally understandable. Especially with something like this you don't want to be rushed. Don't worry about deadlines. You began this venture for your love of the craft. Take time to enjoy the process.
