It's a Boy SALE!

It's a Boy SALE!

I mentioned on Monday, via facebook, that I was considering having a sale, in honor of finding out I'd be an auntie to a nephew, on Monday. With the craziness of yesterday's wonderful day, with our Japan Benefit Day, I decided to wait until today, to give details and all that jazz.

How many of you are aunties? Or uncles? My little sister (yes, she got married before me. GASP!) and brother-in-law had their first baby last year. Yes, she's pregnant again. Ha! They didn't plan this second one, but it's been a wonderful surprise to the entire family. I'm presently auntie to this adorable little angel face.

Lil' Miss Zoe Belle

Being an auntie is so fun! She's absolutely precious!

My little sister, Bethany and I, when Zoe Belle was born. Doesn't she look great for just having a baby, with no epidural? Yikes! Couldn't do it!

Yes, I'm using my blog, as a  means to dote on my niece : )

Well, Zoe Belle will be getting a little brother this summer. I will now have one of each. This should be fun! I don't think I could've introduced a little boys/men's line at a better time.

And so, my inspiration behind this sale, is in celebration of my nephew that will be making his entrance this summer! I have to say, this little boys line is so much fun! Almost, as fun as designing headbands : )

It's a Boy SALE!

Beginning today, through tomorrow evening, March 31st, the entire black & white by Dainty Button Collection will be 15% OFF! I have already made the adjustments in my etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/DaintyButton, therefore you won't need to use a coupon code. I hope you take advantage of this great sale and celebrate boys!

Japan Benefit Day THANK YOU!

I cannot go without saying a word of "thanks" for yesterday's amazingly, wonderful, successful day. WOW! I was so touched at the support and participation from everybody! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PS....

Oh, yes! I wanted to share our new Spring 2011 graphics. My brother-in-law is a very talented graphics designer. He currently works with my father's media company, Morgan Media, and does all of my graphics, marketing, business cards, you name it. He has some incredible ideas when it comes to marketing and be sure and look for the fabulous things he's got planned for Dainty Button.

This is not the best picture, but compared to the other dysfunctional, family vacation and holiday pictures, it's the best one I have. LOL!

He's great! If you're needing any media, website design, photography, marketing, etc., he's the man!

Here's our Spring 2011 artwork, he did.

Love it! New business cards are coming, as well, and I love the look. I hope you will too : )

Ok, enough of my jabbering. Have a great week, enjoy the sale and thanks so much for supporting Dainty Button!

Japan Benefit Day

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Mine was busy, but enjoyable, nonetheless. I hope your Monday is treating you well. For those that do not know me personally, I'm going to be an auntie again. My little sister is pregnant with her second baby and will find out this morning if it's a boy or girl, which I'm impatiently awaiting to hear! I might be working on my first baby, at the time my sister and brother-in-law are welcoming their 10th. Ha! Well, let me get to the purpose of this blog : )

For those that ready my last blog, http://daintybutton.blogspot.com/2011/03/give-hand-to-those-in-need.html, in regards to the Japan Benefit day, you will know what this blog is in regards to. This is a small, but thoughtful way of my business reaching out to a nation in need. I wish I could just send thousands of dollars, but that's not the case. So, I brainstormed an idea, with the help of a good friend, that I think will show support and also get my customers involved. Everybody likes feeling like they've done something good in this life and how would you feel, if you purchased something pretty for yourself, and know that in return that money is going towards a nation that is in much need of help. Here's your chance.

Dainty Button's Japan Benefit Day

Tomorrow, March 29th, from 10 AM to 9 PM (PST), ALL SALE PROCEEDS, will go to the Red Cross, benefitting the Japan Crisis. My team and I are dedicating our time, at no financial gain to us, to help this cause. In addition to ALL SALE PROCEEDS, I posted 5 choices from our "It's a Wrap" Collection, for all of you to vote on last week. Whichever choice had the most votes, would be our lucky pick and retail at $7, plus shipping. All of our "It's a Wrap" pieces retail at $19-$21.50. This is over half off. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross, as well as all other sales. I was so excited and in awe at the response that we got in this voting. I've had several emails, texts and calls, encouraging this and showing support. I think tomorrow, with your help, we can rally together and raise a lot of money to help a nation in need! I hope you will join us. All sales can be made in my etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/DaintyButton

And our lucky pick from our "It's a Wrap" Collection...

Lush Meadow Dreams

And.....

I did a lot of thinking over the weekend, as I saw some comments on another one of our choices...

Red's Blushing Bloom

Red is a traditional color of Japan http://japanese.about.com/od/japanesecultur1/a/Japanese-Conception-Of-Red.htm. So, why not honor what we're doing?

Here's the catch...

Red's Blushing Bloom will be LIMITED at a retail price of $7, plus shipping. This is due to a limited amount in stock. If you go to purchase this wrap at $7, plus shipping tomorrow and it's not priced at $7, that means that we reached our limit. I will have an exact number, as to what the limit is later today. I will post this on our facebook fan page, so be sure and check that, if you're wanting a chance to snag this at our special retail price.

Please tell your friends and family about this special day and I hope you will join us tomorrow!

Remember, ALL PROCEEDS go towards the Red Cross. This is a very special cause!

God bless you all and happy Monday!

Inventory

There is one thing I absolutely hate in running a business. And that's inventory. I'd rather have a root canal. Ok, actually I wouldn't. But, it's safe to say, I really hate it. And it's that time. I keep a pretty good inventory on a consistent basis but there is that inventory where you must go in and count every single, little thing. Even down to thread and glue sticks. Ugh! Anybody want to come help? : )

This post is not really all about inventory, although it sorta is? There's a point to this, though. A method to my madness, so to speak. My accountant visited my shop and was really surprised and overwhelmed at my inventory. Basically, I have way too much. And I hate to say this, but she's right. I have way too much inventory. About 60% is sold on a consistent basis and well, the rest isn't. I love to design, create and introduce new pieces but I also, must have a balance and stay consistent. So, that being said. It's "sayonara" time. To my dismay, I must part with some inventory. This might make me sound like a "french fry short of a happy meal", but I grow attached to my accessory pieces. Everybody always talks about my names for each piece and where I find them. I make up a lot of them. Some are picked from a favorite song, movie, broadway, etc. And once they're named, the attachment begins. I know, a bit weird. So, parting with some of these makes me feel a lil' bum'ish, but it is what it is.

I decided to share the pieces that will be discontinued with you, for the sake of, if you've been eyeing one of them, you'll have a chance to snag one before they're gone. Below are the items that will no longer be available after this weekend.

Any questions, you can contact us at daintybutton@yahoo.com.

Thanks, friends!

So long, farewell...

Emerald Isle

Annabelle

Starlet

Marilyn Monroe

Carnival Carrie's Spring Showers

Bahama Spring

Pretty in Pink

Frenchy

Coral Bloom

Irish Luck

Bella Bloom

Tutti Fruity Bloom

Hootie Hoo

Wicked

Lil' Spring Fling

I will keep these in my shop throughout the weekend. After this weekend, I'll be unlisting all of the above pieces. Happy Friday, everyone!

Give a Hand to Those in Need

How many besides me are just torn up over the Japan crisis? It's so sad! I've watched so many clips of coverage on the natural disaster and seen the devastating pictures, that it truly makes my heart hurt. I cannot imagine what it's like going through such a horrific ordeal. I pray my family and I are never faced with that crisis. Last week, I saw other businesses lending a hand and making donations and I immediately started thinking of ways that my lil' business could help. Obviously, I cannot give thousands or millions, but I can do whatever is within my reach and help. I threw some ideas around with friends and family over the weekend. I also posted something on our fan page last night and received some great suggestions from some of our fans. I personally, know of some missionaries in Japan, as well as friends that have family there. I want to help in any way that I can. Imagine you, being struck with this disaster, homeless, abandoned and your family torn apart. It's awful!

Late last night, I spoke with a really close friend, that had a really great suggestion, along the lines that some of you suggested on facebook. I'm adding a little twist to this and want to rally as many people as I can to participate in this endeavor. I'm leaving my own personal gain, as a business owner out of this, as well as publicity reasons. Yes, I want the publicity for the right reasons, which is to raise money and help Japan.

Whether you're familiar with Dainty Button or not, we currently have a very popular, unique collection called, "It's a Wrap". This is an original design, in which I introduced last year. Each piece retails between $19-$21.50. If you're not familiar with this collection, here is a piece from the collection...

You can view the rest of our current collection in our etsy shop

On March 29th, from 10 AM to 8 PM (PST), I will be selling one selection from the "It's a Wrap" Collection for $7, plus shipping. All proceeds will go towards the Red Cross. My assistants and myself are devoting our time, with no profit, whatsoever out of this, in order to help a nation, in need. Please keep in mind, this is less than half of retail and you will never get this price, even during our half off sales and during the holidays. Most importantly, it's going for a good cause.

Here's where I need your help!

Below, I'm listing 5 different "It's a Wrap" selections. I would like you to vote on your favorite choice. Whichever wrap has the most votes, will be our selection for March 29th at $7, plus shipping. Here's how voting works:

1. Vote daily, beginning today until Saturday, March 26th at 11:59 PM (PST).
2. Each day, I will post each selection on our fan page. By commenting "Cast my vote" on your pick, under the picture of your choice, your vote is counted.
3. ANYBODY can vote!

Clear?

And here are your choices...

Wrap #1
Lush Meadow Dreams

Wrap #2
Circa 1950

Wrap #3
Blushing Red Blossom

Wrap #4
Sunny Raindrops

Wrap #5
Midnight Blossom

Please note:

After purchasing, please provide 7 business days to ship, versus our 3-5 business days.

Voting begins now!

And one last lil' tidbit to leave you with...

How many of you have referred a friend or family member to Dainty Button and they've purchased something? I'm sure a lot of you have. I, personally know of some of our customers that have been loyal customers since we began and have referred TONS of other customers and that means so much to us. I try my best to show my gratitude with words, but I want to REALLY show my appreciation. And so, I was talking to my close friend last night, regarding this. They suggested a rewards type program for anybody that refers someone. Well, I had already been playing with the idea of rewarding those that I know have referred somebody, but why not make it fun for everybody? And give everybody the chance to refer someone. So, here's what we came up with.

Twice a year, I have a HUGE sale. The kind of sale where EVERYTHING in my shop is half off. These sales have been a very big success, but in all honesty, I cannot do them all the time, much to everybody asking. I just can't, I'm sorry. But what I can do, is offer them twice a year and let you have a chance to stock up on Dainty Button for a great price. Incredible price, actually. Our first big sale of the year is next month, as we close out our Spring inventory and bring in our Summer inventory. I have not decided upon a date yet, but it will probably be the end of April. Here's some info regarding the sale:

1. ONLY what is in inventory will be available in the sale. Meaning, if it's a back ordered item, limited or not in stock, it WILL NOT be part of the sale. So, if you've got your eye on a particular item, that does not necessarily mean it will be part of the sale. I will not know what will be in the sale until the week prior, at which I will give a sneak peek.
2. All items will have a 7 -10 business day turnaround after purchase, due to the high volume of orders that our sales bring in.

Here's the catch to our big SPRING SALE. You must be invited. There will be a coupon code that will access your discount at checkout. This code is only available in your "invite". So, how do you receive an invite?

1. If you have referred someone in the past year and they have purchased something from us, you automatically receive an invite. This only applies to those that we have record of. If you've referred someone and they bought something, but we don't know that you referred them, it DOES NOT apply. How can we find out? If that individual would like to email us at daintybutton@yahoo.com and give us your name and our records indicate a purchase from them, you will get rewards for it, as well as them.
2. If you refer someone between now and the time the "invite" goes out, they purchase something in our etsy shop and put your name at checkout, you and them both receive an "invite".

Does any of this make sense? Ha!

Bottom line. You must be "invited" to the big SPRING SALE, by referring someone, them buying and mentioning your name.

You can refer a friend or family member to our fan page on facebook:

Or our etsy shop:

Referrals are welcome at anytime and our "Refer a Friend" Rewards Program is effective immediately. Good luck and further details will be available regarding our SPRING SALE in the near future.

Hope everybody is having a wonderful week!
